Amanda Rae Pritchard

Amanda Rae Pritchard, went home to be with Jesus, surrounded by her family, on Monday, October 16, 2023. She fought courageously against cancer and while she may have lost her battle here on earth, she is experiencing full healing and victory with her savior. Graduating from New Smyrna Beach High School class of 1976, Amanda held many different careers including customer service, caregiving, and hospitality management but none as important to her as motherhood. 

On any given day, Amanda could be found sporting Miami Dolphins gear as they were her favorite team, and she took this seriously. From shirts, shoes, pants, and hats, to even sporting turquoise eyeglass frames. Her pajama collection might be considered an obsession but really who doesn’t love being comfy? She loved music, festivals, joking with friends, going to church, a good cup of coffee, and sometimes even dancing in the living room. These sorts of things are what defined Amanda. She always made you feel welcome whether she was greeting you at work or you were visiting her home. Her kindness, laughter and joy will always be remembered. 

Amanda was preceded in death by her father, Henry Sloan and her mother, Nancy Sloan. She is survived by her husband of 45 years James Pritchard; her children Lauren (Jeff) Matthews, Darren (Whitney) Pritchard, Christopher (Mindy) Pritchard, and Russell (Shakeila) Pritchard; her grandchildren Drew Olson, Daniel Burks, Dylan Pritchard, Tyler Pritchard, Sterling Pritchard, Ryleigh Pritchard, and Harper Pritchard; her brothers Kevin (Rachel) Sloan and Greg (Daphne) Sloan. Amanda was a devoted follower of Jesus, wife, mother, sister, and friend. 

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Community Church, 2108 Hibiscus Drive, Edgewater, FL 32141.
