Andrew Franklin Monday, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, at the age of 75. Born on February 14, 1950, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Andrew was a vibrant spirit whose laughter and love touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Andrew was the son of Oliver and Laura Monday and grew up surrounded by the warmth of family. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents and his brothers, Oliver Reece, James Albert, and Darrell Lynn. He is survived by his siblings: April Cox, Myrtle Monday, David Monday, Martha Stiles, and John Monday, as well as a legacy of love through his children: Israel & Christi Monday, Tabitha Monday, and Shannon & Brian Gintz. He took immense pride in his grandchildren: Connor Monday, Noah, Hanah, and Joshua Tremblay, Chloe & Grayson Clouse, and Baylee, Lane, and Payten Gintz. In addition, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends whose lives he enriched.
Andrew graduated from Carter High School in 1968 and went on to forge a successful career as an electrical engineer in the zinc mining industry, dedicating over 45 years to his profession. His work reflected his meticulous nature and passion for innovation, traits that he also applied in his personal life.
Andrew found joy in fishing and immersing himself in nature, whether at the beach, the lake, or in the mountains. He had a special love for building and tinkering with automobiles and gadgets, which showcased his creative mind and hands-on spirit. Yet, his greatest joy came from the time spent with his children and grandchildren, who were the center of his world. He was known as a huge jokester, always quick with a witty remark or playful tease, and he relished the opportunity to make those around him smile.
Andrew's life was one of dedication, humor, and love. He had a rare ability to connect with people and make them feel valued and cherished. His laughter and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A gathering of friends to celebrate Andrew’s life will be held on March 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Settle-Wilder located at 406 S. Orange Street, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168. All are welcome to come and share in the memories of a remarkable man who left a lasting impact on his family and community.
