Ann Lee Domingus

Ann Lee (Melvin) Conner Domingus, 89, of New Smyrna Beach, died March 3, 2017, at Halifax Hospice in Edgewater, FL.  A Celebration of her life will be held on her beloved beach in July. Settle-Wilder Funeral Home has been entrusted with her cremation.
Born in Marianna, FL, Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Golden Melvin and Nancy Pearl Richburg; and her sister, Lollee Doster.
 A ‘Steel Magnolia’ of NSB’s Class of ’45, Ann out danced and out lived two loving husbands; the father of her children, John R. Conner who died in 1994; and her last husband, Roy ‘Dunham’ Domingus who died in 2016. Ann and Dunham were NSBHS sweethearts who reconnected after 64 years, dated for one month when Dunham presented her with a ring stating…”Ann, we’re 83…what are we waiting on??” Their last years were spent blissfully in love.
Ann is survived by her six children: Jenny (Ron) Keeley of Edgewater, FL; Jan Conner of New Smyrna Beach, FL; Justin (Tammy) Conner of Kissimmee, FL; Jim Conner of Debary, FL; Charlie (Kim)Conner of Apopka, FL; Nancy (Ronald) Young of Marietta, GA; thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three nieces, and two nephews.
Mother was beautiful, independent, and blessed by many dear and lifelong friends, especially the other ‘Magnolias’: Bonnie Hodge, Ellen Vanderburg, Lou Finck, and Audrey Hancock.  
Forever love to Barbara Samples, New Smyrna’s most fabulous hairdresser of The Hair Stop; Dr. Staci Appleton who was attentive and compassionate; the ER and ICU staff at Florida Hospital (Bert Fish); and the most caring and gentle staff at the lovely Halifax Hospice in Edgewater.
New Smyrna has lost a Mermaid. She ‘dressed to the nines’, was religious about lipstick, drove a ‘Racing Red’ Mustang…and she lived until she died!
