Ann Marie D'Alessio Obituary

Ann Marie R. D’Alessio
Devoted To Family, 3 Foster Children, and Community

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Ann Marie Renee (Botelle) D’Alessio due to complications from the Covid 19 virus.   Ann Marie entered the Gates of Heaven, at the age of 49 with her mother by her side on Sunday, August 15, 2021, the day we commemorate Mary, Mother of Our Lord.  She was born on August 8, 1972, in Waterbury CT; the daughter of Phyllis (Scalo) D’Alessio and the late David J. Botelle.  She was the granddaughter of the late John and Philomena Scalo, and the late George and Ruth Botelle.

As a young girl, she grew up in Naugatuck CT attending Prospect Elementary School.  In 1994 Ann Marie was later led by faith to relocate to Beaufort, SC where her ministry and community service culminated.  In 2009 she moved to Edgewater FL to be with family, especially her grandmother, Philomena Scalo whom she resided with for several years.  During that time, she set goals and her dreams became a reality!

Ann Marie earned a 4-year degree in Business, became a first-time homeowner, and with much determination and sacrifice was blessed with 3 beautiful foster children.  She was employed as an office manager with the SE Volusia Habitat For Humanity, an organization that allowed her to support others and give back to the community.

Ann Marie had an infectious laugh and found fun in just everyday life.  She embodied an innocent spirit even throughout her most challenging circumstances.  She was an exceptional example of God’s love, and she had the heart of a true servant.  She was loved by all and would welcome the opportunity to lend a loving hand of support to anyone, at any time.

Her journey may have been shortened, but it speaks volumes of the True Testament of God’s Love that she carried in her heart.  She will be greatly missed, but forever remembered with love and respect by her family and friends.

Ann Marie is survived by her loving mother Phyllis D’Alessio, and devoted stepfather Vincent D’Alessio (FL); Uncle Frank Scalo (FL), Uncle John & Aunt Debbie Scalo (FL), Aunt Mary Sciarretta (CT), Uncle James Botelle (FL); Stepsisters, Danielle D’Alessio and Emily Elander (CT); Stepbrother, Nikko D’Alessio (CT); her cousins and great aunts and uncles.
Ann Marie is also survived by pastors who were mentors throughout her life, and by dear Christian friends who she often referred to as ‘sisters and brothers’.  She was blessed by your friendship as was her family.

A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Friendship Community Church, Edgewater, with Pastor Tim McCardel, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Ann Marie to SE Volusia Habitat for Humanity, 722 S. Dixie Fwy, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168; http://www.habitat.org/donate.
