Antonia (Toni) Hobart Weed of Winter Park, Florida, 96, passed away on December 16, 2022.
Toni was born in Westminster, London, United Kingdom and was within the sound of Big Ben. Her parents were William Hobart and Elizabeth Amelia Chambers Hobart. Toni attended St. Saviour’s Church of England School and Clapham Commercial College. She worked as a secretary.
Toni immigrated to the United States at age 19. She married L.D. Robinson of Bowling Green, Kentucky. When L.D. was recalled by the United States Air Force, Toni became a military wife. The family moved and lived in several different states, and returned to England for a three-year assignment. Son, Gregory, was born in Texas and daughter, Kendra, was born in England.
After L.D.’s retirement, the family moved to Florida. L.D. taught at Winter Park High School. Toni, who had attended Chapman College in California, transferred, attended, and graduated, from Rollins College in Winter Park with a bachelor’s degree in business. Toni worked as a social worker for the state of Florida, and was promoted to supervisor for the federal and state child support enforcement program for the district – including Orange, Osceola, Brevard and Seminole counties. Toni took an early retirement when L.D. developed a severe heart condition. Seven years after L.D.’s death, Toni married Oscar Weed of Oregon. During WWII, L.D. and Oscar both served in the United States Air Force in England. L.D. served as a radar specialist and Oscar as a pilot. Toni and Oscar lived in Winter Park until Oscar’s death in January 2017.
Toni is survived by son, Gregory Trent Robinson, daughter Kendra Robinson Kokoska (Stephen),
granddaughters, Shellee Robinson, Tarin Covert (Zachary), and Alexis Kokoska, greatgrandchildren Brynn Podraza and Lucas Briley, nieces and nephews of the Robinson and Gaines families, including, locally, Brian and Jamie Gaines, stepdaughter Marcy Weed Garfias (Robert) and family, and stepsons Jerry Weed (Jane), James Weed (deceased), and Robert Weed (Fern) and their families from California and Washington.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society SE Florida, 1737 N. Clyde Morris Blvd., Suite 140, Daytona Beach, FL 32117.
