Barbara Suzanne Alden

Barbara Suzanne Alden, age 79, died Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange, Florida. Born in White Plains, New York to John David  Bennett and Lillian Catharine Nichols.  Barbara came to Florida as a child, and the New Smyrna Beach area 21 years ago from Plantation, Florida.

A retired United Airlines flight attendant, her career spanned 37 years.  Escaping Florida summers up north she enjoyed the Kidron Mennonite Church in Kidron, Ohio. She was also welcomed among many Amish friends and cherished the relationships. A former member of the Smyrna Yacht  Club, Barbara enjoyed feeding birds, fishing, watching evening game shows, playing bridge, canasta, and traveling in the family RV.  She loved horses, and her beloved Westie Darby.  She also loved cooking and Barbara's cookies were the best.

Survivors include her husband of 21 years, John; son, Scott (Sheramae Joyce); grandson, Travis Valera; 4 sisters, Diana Rogers, Lorraine Bennett, Linda Bernhardt,  and Julie Blackwell and brother Ron Bernhardt

There will be a celebration of her life Saturday, April 12th at 1:00PM at Settle Wilder.
