Betty Smith Hardy, age 75, of Apopka, died Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at AdventHealth Orlando. Born in Alexandria, Louisiana to Joseph Murray and Yvonne Pendergrass Smith, Betty came to the area 40 years ago from Texas.

A homemaker, she attended church and enjoyed shopping, watching television, going to the beach and traveling.

Survivors include her daughters, Melissa (Edward) Straton and Heather Horn; sister, Murleen Kimball; 8 grandchildren, Matthew Yarbrough, Michael Yarbrough, Travis Sasser, Damien Prado, Troy Horn, Dustin Petty, Brittany Carpenter and Dennis Petty; 7 great grandchildren, Matt Yarbrough Jr., Randee Durrance, Nylla Yarbrough, Michael Jr., Jordan Yarbrough, Jaxon Yarbrough and Lexie Yarbrough. Betty was preceded in death by her 3 sisters, Dorothy Nunez, Juanita Baker, and Rita Droddy; and Lori Carpenter and Junie Durbin.
