Brenda Joy Schmitt

Brenda Joy Schmitt, age 71, of Edgewater, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Halifax Health Hospice Edgewater. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Walter E. and Mary E. Bolenbaugh Smith, Brenda came to the area in 1992 from her birthplace.

A Licensed Practical Nurse, she enjoyed her work in the medical field. Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. 

Survivors include her sons, Craig, Edgewater; Chris and Curt, both of Fort Wayne; and Chad, in Edgewater; step daughter, Melody Monday, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; seven brothers, and sisters. Brenda was preceded in death by husband, Robert W. "Bob" Schmitt.
