Carl Henry Lytle, aged 87, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, died Monday, August 21, 2023. He passed at Halifax Health Hospice of Edgewater.
He was born in Potsdam, New York to Henry Lytle and Pauline Lytle(Dow); Carl and his wife Linda came to the area in 1992 from Schenectady, NY.
He was a graduate of St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. As an educator, he taught at Stratford in Schoharie, NY, where he served as a teacher, guidance counselor, and busy golf coach.
Carl was a member of the NY State Teacher Association, a past President of Schoharie Kiwanis, and an avid NSB Municipal Golf Course player for many years.
He loved being a Pop-Pop where the delight of his week was having breakfast with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carl was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his daughter, Debra Tully, of New Smyrna Beach; two grandchildren, Timothy Tully, of San Diego, CA, and Megan (Daniel) Toole, of Edgewater; two great-grandchildren, Quinn and Emmett Toole. Carl was preceded in death by his wife Linda in 2009.
The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023, at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home with.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Burns Science and Technology Charter School, 160 Ridge Road, Oak Hill, FL 32759.
