Carol Lee Syler, age 70, of DeLand, died Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at her residence. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Elmer and Roberta Brown Cravens, Carol came to the area in 2016 from Mountain City, Tennessee.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Carol was a member of City Sanctuary in DeLand; and loved to sing in the choir. She enjoyed tending her butterfly garden and making people laugh. She loved Jesus and was a light to those around her. She was retired for several years, her career included radio advertising and retail sales.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Joe; 3 daughters, Shannon (Anthony) Koszalkowski, of Kennesaw, Georgia; Jennifer (Mark) Remias, of DeBary; and Janice Syler (Jason) Wronowski, of Palm Coast; 2 sons, Tommy Kiefer, of Orlando and David (Kelli) Syler, of Edgewater; granddaughter, Julie Cannon, of Dallas, Georgia; grandsons, John (Laura) Koszalkowski, of Dallas, Georgia, Josh Koszalkowski, of Kennesaw, Georgia, Jameson Wronowski, of Palm Coast, Jack and Joey Wronowski and Frasier Thompson; 4 great grandchildren, Maci, Aliyah, Paisley and Zach. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Jerry and Larry.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Schrade, officiating. Entombment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
