Catherine Jean Ashton Wharton passed away peacefully, surrounded with love, on September 3, 2024.
Jean leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and beauty. As a devoted wife, sister, mother, stepmother, grandmother, aunt, and great grandmother to be, as well as a friend to many, she brought joy and warmth to everyone and always put others before herself. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and compassionate nature touched the lives of everyone she met. She loved her countless fur babies and animals dearly and gave them all her love as well. She loved to cook, to watch movies, to laugh, and to spend precious time with family and friends.
Her radiant smile, gentle ways and generous heart, lit up the world around her. Her kindness, patience, and understanding inspired countless people, and her beauty, both inside and out, will never be forgotten. We are all better for having her in our lives.
Jean will be deeply missed. Her memory will be cherished, and her impact on the lives of those who knew her will continue to be felt for years to come.
Rest in peace, dear Jean. Your love, kindness, and beauty will never be forgotten.
Jean joins her loving parents, Lester Jerome and Frances Nell Ashton, as well as her sister Vicki Ann Ashton.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Wharton; her sister Lynn Puckett (Dale); her sons Michael and James; her stepchildren Peggy, Ronny, Lynn and Jeanine; her grandchildren Jennifer, Bree-Anna, Dakota, Alyssa, Samantha, Mackenzie, Cole and Kane; her great grandaughter-to-be Ellie Emma Jean; her nieces Dawn, Tina (Shane), Melissa, Jennifer and her nephews John (Michelle), Jeremy and Ricky, as well as many extended and loved family members, friends and acquaintances.
