Cecil Ide, age 84, of New Smyrna Beach, died Friday, September 18, 2020 at his residence. Born in Mayville, Michigan to Ivan and Thelma Manwell Ide; Cecil moved to this area in 2004 from Winter Garden.
A retired heavy equipment mechanic at Dewitt Excavating for over 30 years; Cecil enjoyed cars, racing, sports (especially the Gators), and fishing the flats. He loved to eat, laugh and spend time with his family.
Survivors included his wife of 34 years, Delba; a son, Darren, and his wife, Patsy; a daughter, Aven Sutton, and her husband, Roger; 3 stepchildren, Kevin Decker, and his wife, Patty, Jeff Decker, and his wife, Debbie, and Ginger Rennie, and her husband, John; 2 grandchildren, Britney and Brandon; a sister, Bonnie Adamic, and her husband, Bill; and an aunt, Ila McSloy. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dennis.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
