Cecil Selman Sr., age 87, died Sunday, August 27, 2023 at his residence. Born in Kingston, Georgia to John Dial and Ollie Mae Chapman Selman, and was one of eight children. Cecil came to the area in 1966 from Rome, Georgia.
Owner and operator at Cecil’s Phillips 66 Gas Station since 1972 then changing to Cecil’s Mobile Home & RV Parts & Servicer in 1984. Cecil was a charter member of Bella Vista Baptist Church. He loved fishing and listening to music. Cecil was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather that will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Elaine; son, Chip (Tracy) Selman, of Edgewater; daughter, Tina Selman Raulerson, of Edgewater; two grandsons, Cody (Brittany) Raulerson and Logan Selman (fiancé, Katrine Saylor-Romdahl; three granddaughters, Amber (Steve) Belmonte; Savannah (Danny) Echemendia; Sierra Selman (fiancé Blake Carpenter); six great grandchildren; brother, Paul Allen Selman. Cecil is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one sister.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 at Bella Vista Baptist Church, with Pastor John Marsh, officiating. Burial will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. Friends will be received on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bella Vista Baptist Church.
