Clarence Michael Strung

Clarence Michael Strung, age 91, of Cleveland, Ohio, died Monday, March 14, 2022 at Brookdale Ormond Beach West in Florida. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Michael and Charlotte Hetzel Strung . 

Clarence was a 1948 graduate of James Ford Rhodes High School.  It was at Rhodes where he met the love of his life and wife of 66 years, Rosemary Jankura Strung.  He attended Ohio University and was an ROTC member.  Upon graduation he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army Infantry and while serving in the Korean War was promoted to 1st Lieutenant.  Clarence and Rosemary were married on August 2, 1952. 

Clarence worked diligently to provide a comfortable life for his family.  He retired at age 55, Treasurer of Industrial First, a large commercial construction company.  Clarence was an avid world traveler, bridge and tennis player. He volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul; Treasurer, St. Joseph Church Strongsville Ohio Chapter, and was a volunteer tax advisor, AARP in Strongsville.  Family, friends and just mere acquaintances often referred to Clarence as one of the nicest people they had ever met. 

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Wade (Jim), of Florida; son, Michael (Donna), of Texas; and granddaughter, Gena of California. Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Jankura Strung; and sister, Margaret Strung Heck.

Private service and interment will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

Celebration of Life will be in Strongsville, Ohio at a later date.
