Clyde Odell Van Kleeck, Sr.

Clyde Odell Van Kleeck, Sr., age 88, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at his residence. Born in Kingston, New York to Freeman and Rita Peet Van Kleeck, Clyde came to the area when he was 12 years old from his birthplace.

A land surveyor, he was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. Clyde was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, New Smyrna Beach, where he was a Deacon and a member of the American Legion in Jacksonville. Clyde loved to golf, was a history buff and enjoyed woodworking. He was an avid worker and loved doing yard work.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sylvia; 3 children, Clyde (April) Van Kleeck, Jr.; Michelle (William) Hall and Logan Van Kleeck; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday April 8, 2022 at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery with military honors.
