Connie Marie Filer, age 78, of Edgewater, died Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater. Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia; Connie moved to this area in 1999 from Ocala.
A retired Deputy Sheriff corrections officer in Marion County, she also was a former CNA in both Volusia and Marion Counties, as well as a former Publix employee. She was a member of Bella Vista Baptist Church in Edgewater; and loved to travel, take cruises, work in the church and care for people.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Eugene; a daughter, Donna (Scott) Monday, of Grandview, Tennessee; 2 step-daughters, Wendy (Doug) Mercerier, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Sheri Vealey, of Ocala; 6 grandchildren, Jason Monday, Jesse Monday, Austin Vealey, Tyler Vealey, Keesha Calampfeer and Kelly Tompkins; 7 great grandchildren and special family, Joe, Ana, Joseph and Erik Koran.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Bella Vista Baptist Church, with Reverend John Marsh and Reverend Scott Monday officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at the church.
