Daniel S. Lane, age 62, of New Smyrna Beach, died Friday, October 20, 2023 at his residence. Born in Columbus, Ohio to Melvin N. and Noma Mae Sells, Daniel came to the area in 1961 from his birthplace.

A United States Army veteran, he worked as a computer specialist and radio technician. Daniel enjoyed college football, and working on computers. He was a 1979 graduate and a member of the high school band at New Smyrna High school.

Survivors include his 3 brothers, Melvin (Wendy) Lane, of Edgewater; Gary (Fran) Lane, of Kentucky; and Martin (Cathy) Lane, of Edgewater; 3 sisters, Dora Johnston, of Edgewater; Cheryl (Joel) Sanders, of Edgewater; and Pamela (Kevin) Williams, of Edgewater. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Oak Hill Cemetery, with Dr. Gordon Meier, officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home.
