Dante Notte

Dante Notte, age 83, of New Smyrna Beach, and formerly of Torrington, Connecticut, peacefully passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater surrounded by his loving family.

 

He was the husband of Lorraine Notte for 53 years, with whom he enjoyed his family and friends.

 

Born June 19, 1935 in Torrington, Connecticut, the son of the late Michael and Dolores (Mainella) Notte.

 

Dante joined the Army in January, 1957 and was honorably discharged January, 1959 as a Corporal.  His basic training was in Fort Dix, New Jersey. During his service, he was  President Eisenhower’s Honor Guard. Dante  participated in parades and ceremonies for all dignitaries from all over the world.

 

He joined the Connecticut State Police Department in 1966 and proudly wore badge #497, during his 24 year career.  His assignments included Troop B, North Canaan, Western District Traffic Squad and during his last 8 years, he drove for Lt. Governor Joseph Fauliso.  Dante retired October, 1989.

 

Survivors include three daughters, Christina and her spouse, John Borelli of Lake Mary, Florida; Elizabeth “Betsy”and her spouse, Salvatore Lombardi of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts; and Catherine “Katie” May of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; 5 granddaughters, Audrey and her husband, Nathan Aleskvosky , Makayla May, Jessica Lombardi, Nicola Lombardi and Leah Lombardi; 1 great grandson, Daniel Aleskvosky; sister-in-law and brother-in-laws; nieces and nephews. Dante was preceded in death by his sister, Philomena Levicki.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, with Father Patrick Quinn, T.O.R., officiating. Burial will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with military honors. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2018 at Settle-Wilder Chapel, 406 South Orange Street, New Smyrna Beach, Florida. (386)428-5757.
