David E. Ogsbury

David E. Ogsbury, age 83, of New Smyrna Beach, died Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Advent Health New Smyrna. Born in Albany, New York to Chester and Viella Hofmann Ogsbury, David came to the area 1990  from Guilderland, New York.

A United States Navy Vietnam veteran, he worked in New York State Taxation and Finance and was a member of the American Legion Post 17, New Smyrna Beach;  NRA, Vietnam Veterans, 76 Search and Rescue, all in Albany, New York. David also worked with the Boy Scouts for several years and the Schenectady County Historical Society. He participated in historical events, pow wows; particularly Second Seminole War. David loved amusement parks and roller coasters, was an avid motorcyclist, and loved to travel.  He enjoyed bird watching, woodworking and was he very creative.

Survivors include his life partner since 1999, Connie Carter; son, Dwight D. Ogsbury, of Albany, New York; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ogsbury and Adrian Ellis,  Brianna L. Ogsbury and Stevie C. Barcomb and Susanne M. Ogsbury. David was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia A. Ogsbury and his grandson, Benjamin R. Cottrell.
