David (Dave) Seyse Obituary

David Llewelln Seyse was born September 2, 1947, in Utica New York and died April 29, 2025 in Edgewater, Fl. A beloved family member and a cherished friend, Dave touched the lives of many with his kindness, compassion, humor, and wit.

Born and raised in Clinton, NY, Dave was the son of Paul and Helen Seyse. Dave graduated from Clinton High School in 1966 and enlisted in the Navy in 1967. He served as a member of the V4 Division Flight Deck crew on the USS America CVA66.

Dave next joined the Pompano Beach Fire Department where he served as a driver/engineer, fire inspector, and public Information officer. Dave was also instrumental in the creation of the Pompano Fire Museum.

Everyone knew Dave as a car guy! In high school, he created a club called The Templars for the locals to fix and repair cars on the weekend. Dave was also the former President of the Daytona Area Miata club and current Vice President of the Motor Racing Heritage Association, Ormond Beach.

Dave leaves behind his wife, Lori, siblings, Carol and Dirk Sonneborn, Will and Lois Seyse, Mary Seyse and Tim Richer, sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Al Beeler. Dave also leaves behind his stepchildren, Tim Reed, Kim Wiesmore and Ashley Freeman, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his first wife, Carolyn Webber.

A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held at 1 pm May 20 at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims Fl. A reception will follow at the American Legion, 619 Canal St., New Smyrna Beach, Fl. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Dave are invited to attend and share their memories. 

The family requests that any donations be sent to Edgewater Halifax Hospice, 4140 S. Ridgewood Ave, Edgewater, Fl in David's honor.
