Obituary
Demosthenes Caicedo Sr., age 81, of Edgewater, died Friday, July 28, 2023 at his residence. Born in Esmeraldas, Ecuador to Democrito Caicedo Mideiros and Sylvia Maria Aparicio Alomia.
A manager for the County Government, he attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and loved music, dancing, and traveling. Demosthenes traveled all of Europe, South America and Canada. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather that will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Fannie; two sons, Demosthenes Caicedo II, of San Francisco, California; and Gregory Caicedo Sr., of Edgewater; three grandsons, Demosthenes Caicedo III (Ofelia), Nico Caicedo, and Gregory Caicedo Jr.; three granddaughters, Raquel M. Caicedo, Angelina M. Caicedo, and Julianna I. Caicedo; five great grandchildren, Justice, Demosthenes IV, Robert Jr., Destiny, and Deanna. Demosthenes was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home with the Redemptorist Fathers, officiating. Entombment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home.
