Deryl Power Obituary

Deryl C. Power, 89, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026. He was born in Glennville, Georgia on December 18th, 1936.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Laura Bell Stafford, sons, Robert and Matthew Power, daughter, Theresa (Resa) Power-Catalo.
Deryl is survived by his wife of 71 years, Patricia (Gibbs) Power of New Smyrna Beach, sister, Bonnie Lindsey of Oak Hill, daughter, Cheryl Power-Bridges of Port Orange, son, John (Linda) Power of Gainesville, FL, daughter-in-law, Lanie Power, and grandchildren, Correen Bridges-Henschen, Laura (Shawn) Bridges-Smith, Raymond and Patrick Power, Sarah Power, Jordan Shepherd, Jessica and Josh Catalo, Rachell Power-Graff, Robin Power, and many great grandchildren.
Deryl & Patricia met at the age of 16 and were married at 18. They enjoyed a 71-year marriage while living in Islesboro, New Smyrna Beach. Deryl worked in residential construction, where he installed terrazzo flooring and later ran his small business, D&M Flooring and Wall Coating. Deryl and Pat enjoyed trips to the Smokey Mountains with Maggie Valley, NC being his favorite. He was a man of strong conviction and unwavering strength. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of New Smyrna. He was truly admired and loved by many.
A Memorial Gathering/Celebration of Life may be held later with final placement at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater, Florida.
Memorials may be made in his memory to First United Methodist Church, New Smyrna Beach.
