Obituary

Donald Lynn Shobert, 71 passed away Monday, August 28 at home.  Don was born in Pennsylvania to Ronald & Oral Shobert.

Don served 47 years in the ministry. His career included serving as a pastor and chaplain at both Bert Fish Medical Center and Halifax Health. He retired in 2017.  Don loved his family immensely and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with them. He was always ready for an adventure, including climbing lighthouses.  In 1960 he met the love of his life, Joyce. They have been together since the 3rd grade, and married for 52 years.  

Don is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce.  Brother, Ron Shobert (Donna), Daughters: Renee Andrus, Lori Smith (Ric), Grandchildren: Allison Andrus (Mason Porter) Dalton Smith (Madi Buckels) Bailey Smith(Kenzie). Great Granddaughter: Laney Mae Porter.  

Services will be held at Beachside Baptist Church: 629 S. Pine Street, New Smyrna Beach, with the Khalil Ayoub, officiating; on Saturday, September 2nd at 11:00 a.m. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Beachside Baptist Church.
