Donald "Don" J. Snow, age 89, of Edgewater, died Monday, August 26, 2024 at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach. Born in Chicago, Illinois on July 17, 1935 to Joseph and Helen Cison Snow, Don came to the area in 2011 from Tampa.
A United States Navy veteran, he attended Hammond High School where he ran track under Coach Whitey Wansowitz and then went on to run track at Western Michigan University at Kalamazoo, Michigan.
In July 1956, he married Patricia Garrison and worked in Indiana and Ohio for many years before moving to Florida. Don was the happiest when he entered the sales field, calling on customers and writing up orders. He worked for several different companies and was successful in various markets. His outgoing personality aligned naturally for a fulfilling career in the sales industry.
Don was a member of Hacienda Military Vets Club and was a volunteer at Halifax Hospice, in Edgewater. He was the "King" of the pool at Hacienda, enjoyed working out, and going to the beach his entire life. Don enjoyed watching the NFL, college football and Major League Baseball. Don was a member of First Presbyterian Church, New Smyrna Beach. He was a delightful man and never met a stranger. Don saw the best in everyone. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Don is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patricia; two sons, Gary Michael (Leslie) of Miamisburg, Ohio; Richard Joseph (Donna) of New Smyrna Beach; four grandchildren, Hank, Josh (Shelly), Jennifer (Brit), and Kailey; five great grandchildren, and brother, Ronald Snow. His family will always cherish his loving and generous ways and his dedication to his family.
Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church, New Smyrna Beach, with the Reverend George T. Head, officiating.
