They immigrated to Canada in 1959, and continued down to the United Stated until they reached Florida in 1969. As a young woman, she served a seven year apprenticeship as a tailor in England, and in Florida she opened her own tailor shop. Her tailor shop, known as The English Tailor, in Ormond Beach was a very successful business for her that enabled her to provide for the family she loved so much. She retired and moved back to England in 1985.
She was a kind hearted and fun loving woman, who always put family first. She moved back and forth across the Atlantic Ocean from England to America to be with them, whenever they needed her.
She is survived by 2 sons, Roy and his wife Mandy Longstaffe, of Harrogate, England; Colin and his wife Laurie Longstaffe, of Newport, TN; 2 daughters, Sandra and her husband, William McDonald of Palm Coast, Pam and her husband Mike Cawood of Ormond Beach; 12 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren; sister Josephine Hide of Lowton, England.
