Obituary
Dorothy M. Richards, age 97, of New Smyrna Beach, died Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to Paul and Mary Stager, Dorothy came to the area in the early 1950's from New Jersey.
A registered nurse, she was an artist, involved with the Artists’ Workshop of New Smyrna Beach and Power Squadron. Dorothy was a tennis player, loved walking the beach, boat rides, fishing and anything that had to do with the water.
Survivors include her daughter, Patti Richards (Bill Johnson), of Plant City; 3 sons, Thomas (Jeannine) Richards, of New Smyrna Beach; Peter (Tracy) Richards, of New Smyrna Beach and Timothy (Kimberly) Richards, of Fairview, North Carolina; 3 grandsons, Sam, Max and Ryder; 7 granddaughters, Nita, Robin, Brooke, Melia, Jessica, Rebecca and Rainie; 3 great grandchildren; and sister, Marion Larson. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
No service has been planned at this time.
The family suggests memorials to the Artists’ Workshop of New Smyrna Beach, 115 Canal Street B, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168.
