Edith Sammons, age 85, of Edgewater, died Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach. Born in Maxine, Virginia to Orville and Clois Collins Slone, Edith came to the area in 1981 from Gainesville, Florida.
A patient representative in the medical industry, Edith was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, Samsula and an avid reader. She was a caring and kindhearted person, who always brought laughter and love to all that knew her. Edith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Louann Perez; son, Paul D. Sammons; granddaughter, Raven Perez; grandson, Rio Perez; 2 great grandchildren, Lola Layer, and Rylee Perez; and 2 sisters, Genevia Thompson, and Jeanie Meader and long time friend, Penelope Salmons. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Paul.
Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Settle-Wilder Chapel with the Reverend Laura Berg, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater.
