Edward John Hicks

Edward John Hicks, 87, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away on Sunday, December 28th, 2025. He was born in Staten Island, New York on December 1st, 1938 to Raymond and Dorothy (Van Vechten) Hicks.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, David and Jim.
Edward is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cynthia H. (Martin) Hicks of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, his children, Laura (Hicks) Zoeller and Robert Zoeller Jacksonville, New Jersey, Theresa Hicks of Chicago, Illinois, Daniel and Robin (Ticho) Hicks of Lehighton, Pennsylvania, Christopher Hicks of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Matthew and Cynthia (McAllister) Hicks of Winter Springs, Florida, and Joshua Hicks of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, five grandchildren (Arielle Zoeller, Philip Zoeller, Christian Zoeller, Megan Hicks, and Benjamin Hicks), and two sisters, Mary Hicks of Toms River, New Jersey, and Doris (Hicks) Tillman of Whiting, New Jersey.
Edward was an International Artist, teacher, and businessman. Early in his life Edward worked in autobody repair, but his passion was in his painting. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather as well as an avid golfer and one heck of a dancer.
Memorial Gathering will be from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Placement of cremation will be private at a later date.
