Eileen S. Lyke, 95, of Holly Hill, Florida (formerly of New Smyrna Beach, Florida) passed away on August 23, 2018.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Eileen Lyke, stay-at-home mom, moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1984 from Chicago, Illinois. Eileen’s dream was to get married and have children. Mrs. Lyke was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children. Anyone who knew them knew that she was a star in their eyes, and that’s all that ever mattered to her. Mrs. Lyke was a Notre Dame fan first, but also made sure to root for all of the University teams of her Grandchildren, except when they were playing Notre Dame. Mrs. Lyke loved spending time with friends and family and at her summer home in South Haven, Michigan.
Eileen was married to Bill Lyke for 74 years and a proud mother of Butch, Jimmy, Jerry and preceded in death by Linda.
Survivors include 3 sons, Butch Lyke of Chicago, Illinois, Jimmy Lyke of Tinley Park, Illinois, and Jerry Lyke of Champaign, Illinois. Grandmother to 13 and Great-Grandmother to 16.
Mrs. Lyke’s wishes were to be cremated. The private interment will be at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater, Florida.
