Elaine Patricia Genest

Elaine Patricia Genest, age 84, of New Smyrna Beach, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.

Born in Waterbury, Connecticut to Nunzio and Dolores Rossi Marino, Elaine was a school bus driver in Connecticut until she moved to Florida in 1978.  She worked with her husband Lee at Lee’s Automotive until she began working as a daycare provider and became a “Nanny” to multiple generations of children including her grandchildren.  She loved every aspect of life ranging from driving stock cars, watching football, gardening to bottle feeding kittens and goats.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the East Coast Cruiser Car Club. Above all, Elaine loved her family and caring for everyone around her. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her three daughters; Teralee (Andrew) West, Heidi Priore, and Raquel (Brian) Heath; brother, David (Kathy) Marino; five grandchildren; J.D., Alison, Ronnie, Taylor and Daulton and a host of family and friends. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Genest; and 2 brothers, Thomas and Raymond Marino.

Celebration of Life will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2022 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home. Private entombment will take place at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater.
