Eliezer “FU” Otero Sr., age 48, of Edgewater, died Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Halifax Health Hospice in Edgewater after a 2 year battle with cancer. Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico to Rafael and Iris Otero; “FU” was very proud to have been raised in Bronx, NY. And moved to Edgewater with his wife in 2000 from Buffalo, New York.
“FU” was a roofing foreman for AWS Roofing; where he was beloved and devoted for over 21 years. He loved roofing, playing pool, fishing, boating, building jeeps, having the best parties and spending time with his family and friends.
“FU” is widely recognized as an amazing, honest, generous man and showed amazing strength throughout his private battle with cancer and will be greatly missed by everyone blessed with knowing him.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Heather; 2 sons, Christopher Otero and Eliezer Otero Jr.; a daughter, Giana Otero; 3 older siblings, Jenny, Rafael Jr., and Elias Otero; mother-in-law, Kathy Sullivan; a large extended family and his “Bronx Brothers”.
“FU” was preceded in death only 4 months ago by his mother, Iris Otero.
“FU” asked that there be no memorial services because “We had the best parties while I was alive”.
The family would like to thank the amazing nurses, doctors and staff at Advent/Halifax Oncology and Edgewater Hospice for their comfort and compassion along the way and the community for the overwhelming support and love prior to and after his passing and asks that you keep them in your prayers.
