Elizabeth L. Bazin, age 82, of Edgewater, died Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach. Born in Detroit, Michigan to Howard and Irene Horvath Tanguay, Elizabeth came to the area in 1982 from Fort Lauderdale.
An office manager in the health care industry, she was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Elizabeth worked for Hallandale Police Department form many years, and was the first woman to work there. She loved playing tennis and had the best left handed backhand. Elizabeth enjoyed sewing, baking and was a wonderful cook. She cherished her dog Bijou. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Roland; 3 sons, David (Janice) Shannon, of Plantation; Michael (Laurie) Shannon, of New Smyrna Beach; and Terry (Tracey) Shannon, of Howie in the Hills; 2 daughters, Renee Shannon and Kelly Kiep, both of New Smyrna Beach; 4 step daughters, Donna (Steve) Giles, of Sandy Hook, CT; Diane (Bill) Judd, of South Hadley, MA; Dr. Denise Monday, of Long Meadow, MA; and Nancy (David) Snyder, of Port Orange; stepson, Dr. William (Liz) Bazin, of E. Long Meadow, MA; 27 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Tom and Bud.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, with Father Matthew Dallman, officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Settle-Wilder Chapel.
