Emma Feger Obituary

Emma May Feger, “Miss Emma” age 87, of New Smyrna Beach, died Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Beachside Center For Rehabilitation and Healthcare, New Smyrna Beach. 
 
Born in Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Mrs. Feger was a resident of this area since 1946. This Yankee girl fell in love and married William F. Feger Jr., the local lifeguard Captain. They were married for 63 years until his death in 2013. 
 
Over the years she became a “Naturalized Southerner.” She was the co-owner/operator of the family business Feger Seafood, from 1965 until 2010 when they retired. Prior to that she had a successful career in telecommunications. She advanced from telephone operator at Southern Bell in New Smyrna to Chief Operator at Kennedy Space Center. She was a part of America’s Space Race from Vanguard to Apollo.  
 
Mrs. Feger had a lifelong love of education taking courses at DBCC. Mrs. Feger was a loyal member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of New Smyrna Beach since 1946; she was a member of the Daughters of the King and Episcopal Church Women at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church; and she loved helping elderly people and the church. Her personal ministry was remembering each Parrish member with a religious birthday and anniversary card. In retirement she raised chickens as a hobby and became a true “Chicken Whisperer” 
 
Survivors include her two sons, William F. Feger III of New Smyrna Beach and Steven J. Feger and wife Robin of Edgewater; six grandchildren, William F. Feger IV and wife, Jennifer of St. Augustine, FL, Emma Jeanette Norcia and husband Mark of Ormond Beach, Janelle Nicole North and her husband Michael of Bloomfield, New Mexico, Amber Lee Bage and husband Michael of New Smyrna Beach ,Kalyn Nicole Wood and husband Kevin of Port Orange, and Joshua Dylan Feger and his wife Ruth of Edgewater; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kylie Feger, Kaleb Feger, Dalton Hall, Erin Hall, Megan Norcia, Nikki North, Emmie North, Aiden Bage, Nolan Bage, Emerson Wood, Hudson Wood, Elway James, Abigail Feger and Noah Feger ; two great-great grandchildren, Arial Moseley and Sloane Gray; and two sisters, Clara Morris of Wildwood, NJ  and Anita MeCray and husband Doug of Elverson, PA . 
 
Mass of the Resurrection will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with the Reverend Matthew C. Dallman, Obl.S.B., officiating. Luncheon will follow in the Parrish Hall.
