Ethel Jane Melder

Ethel Jane Melder, age 78, of Edgewater, died Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange.

Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to Gerald and Pauline Forney Fox, Ethel came to the area in 2001  from Greenville, South Carolina.

She did administrative work for a Christian school in Hollywood, Fla. and was a member of Edgewater Alliance Church. Ethel enjoyed playing cards, painting, and cooking. She loved working in her garden.

Survivors include her brother, James "Jim" (Dianne) Fox Sr.; nieces and nephews; Jason Fox, Julie Evans, Christine Sutton, James Fox Jr., Jennifer Cunningham, and Stephanie Davis; cousins, Dennis and Tina Margurger. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Melder in 2017.

Celebration of Life will be on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Edgewater Alliance Church.
