Evelyn Alberta Gilmore

Evelyn Alberta Gilmore, age 92, of New Smyrna Beach, died Monday, June 20, 2022 at her residence  surrounded by her three children. She was born in Patchogue Long Island, New York to Nathaniel and Ray Stimmerman Brody. Evelyn lived in Patchogue for nearly 50 years. She  moved to Delray Beach in 1983 and then to New Smyrna Beach in 2002.

 

Evelyn worked as a homemaker, bookkeeper, a saleswoman.  In New Smyrna Beach she  volunteered at the Pink Door Hospital Gift Shop.  There was nothing more important and rewarding to her than that of being a devoted wife, loving mother, sister and aunt.  Later on in life she took great pride in being a grandmother and great grand mother. Her kindness, her laugh and her sparkling blue eyes will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, including her devoted dog Riley.

 

Survivors include her daughters, Nancy (Walter) Early, of Delray Beach and Sharon Gilmore, of New Smyrna Beach; son, Bruce (Donna) Gilmore, of Patchogue, New York; granddaughter, Megan (Michael) Segreti, of Patchogue, New York; grandson, Eric Early, of Winter Garden; and great granddaughter, Emma Rae Segretti of Patchogue, New York. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 44 years, Albert; siblings, Grace, David and Irving.

 

A Celebration of life will be later on in the year, up north on Long Island. It will be a private gathering of her family members.
