Frank Benedict

Frank Benedict, 81, passed away peacefully December 4, 2024 at Reflections Memory Care in Port Orange, Florida.

Frank was born March 7, 1943, in the old Sunny South Hospital on Live Oak St in New Smyrna Beach, to Joseph and Frances Luznar Benedict. He was raised on the family farm in Samsula, Florida. Frank was a graduate of New Smyrna Beach High School Class of 1961 where he was an outstanding "Cuda" football player. He attended Arkansas State College on a football scholarship. After college he joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea. When his tour of duty was up Frank returned to Samsula to farm with his brothers. In his final years of farming Frank had the honor system Farm Stand on Airport Road in Samsula. Frank loved hunting, fishing, and traveling. He especially enjoyed his trips to Slovenia.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Cheryl, son David (Lisa) Benedict, daughters Anne Marie Wrenn and Sandra (Chris) Schlageter. His grandchildren Austin and Brooke Benedict, Chase Wrenn, Emma Jane (Aidan) O'Gorman and Lily Schlageter. He is also survived by his 2 brothers, Joe (Alice) Benedict and George (Ruth) Benedict.

Frank was predeceased by his parents and 3 sisters, Joan Worley, Marie Carter and Frances Raulerson.

A special "thank you" to the care takers and staff at Reflections Memory Care of Port Orange for all they did while Frank was a patient at the facility.

Cremation by Settle-Wilder Funeral Home and Cremation Services. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be announced later.
