George M. Shea

November 10, 1947 ~ August 8, 2022 (age 74)


George Michael Shea, from Edgewater, Florida and formerly of Ogdensburg, New Jersey, died Monday, August 8, 2022 after a short illness.

George was the son of the late George Shea and Gertrude Boldt. He was predeceased by his son, Michael Shea. George is survived by his daughters, Kellie Millier and her husband Alain, of Hardyston, New Jersey; Katie Drossell and her husband, George, of Franklin, New Jersey; son, Ryan Shea and his longtime girlfriend Jillian, of Port Orange, Florida; and daughter in law, Carolyn, of Franklin, New Jersey; 10 grandchildren, Emily, Brianna, Cara, Julia, Ryan, Marissa, Brooke, Carson, Mikey and Jameson.

George was in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam where he received the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service medal, and 2 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal with Device 1960; 2 o/s bars, and was an expert Rifle M-1A. He worked for Coca Cola for most of his career having his own route.
George loved spending time with family and friends; riding his motorcycle, going to the beach and playing cards. He was a member of AM Vets Post #2 and loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle. George was a devoted father and grandfather.

Service will be 11:00 a.m. Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Park, 1851 South Riverside Drive, Edgewater. Celebration of Life will be at a later date in Franklin, New Jersey.

George was one of a kind; he had the biggest heart and would give you whatever he could. He will be missed by so many.
