Gerard "Gerry" Bousquet Obituary

Gerard Raymond Bousquet, 78, of New Smyrna Beach, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on October 13, 1948 to the late Gerard Bousquet and Yvette (Lessard) Bousquet. An honorably discharged Air Force veteran, he was the loving husband of Connie Bousquet who passed a few months before him. They shared 55 beautiful years of marriage.

A devoted and hardworking father and grandfather, Gerry treasured his family and friends and easily shared laughter with everyone he met. He was most happy when everyone gathered in his home to share meals, play games, and laugh. Gerry liked to stay active by kayaking, and playing shuffleboard and tennis.

His love and good humor will live on in his children: Stephanie Mattas (Francis) of Greenville, SC., Denise Miller (Randy) of Clarksville, TN, Karen Bousquet (Scott Vine) of Lancaster, PA., and Robert Bousquet (Shayla) of Greenville, SC. Known affectionately as Papa Gerry, he was most proud of his five grandsons and two great grandsons: Justin Van Sickle (Stephanie), Derrick Van Sickle (Cassie), Alex Vine, Scott Bousquet, Adam Bousquet and great-grandsons Jordan Tipton and Dante Van Sickle.

A special thanks to his sister Claire Salladay, Sister-In-Law Candy Kordeleski, and brother in-law Richard Kordeleski for dedicating their love and patience to the whole family during his illness.

Graveside committal service with military honors will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2022 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims.
