Glenaverne G. (Glena) Davis

Glenaverne (Glena) G. Davis, age 94,  passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born June 1, 1927 to John and Anna (Nallett) Denstedt in Gilbert, Minnesota.  After retirement in 1989 she and her husband moved from New Ross, Indiana to Oak Hill, FL.

 

Glena had many talents.  She upholstered furniture, excellent seamstress, realtor, avid reader and volunteered at Halifax Health Hospice.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Glena was a long time member of Indian River Baptist Church where she started the Prayer Shawl Ministry.  She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Trudy (Ron) Youngs, of Pensacola, FL; 2 grandchildren, Travis (Jonna) Davis, of Ladoga, IN and Tricia (Aaron) Thompson, New Market, IN; 4 great grandchildren, Dakota Davis, of Crawfordsville, IN; Chyanne Davis, of Ladoga, IN; Aaron (Skye) Youngs, of Pensacola, FL; and Hunter Youngs, of Pensacola, FL; and great great granddaughter, Lexie Davis, of Crawfordsville, IN. Glena was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wallace Davis;  her son, Fred Davis, and her 6 siblings.

 

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2022 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, 406 S. Orange Street, New Smyrna Beach, with Dr. Keith A. Taylor Sr., officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Settle-Wilder Chapel.  Burial will be at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater, FL.
