Gloria Barbara Sweeney

Gloria Barbara Sweeney, age 89, of Edgewater, died Thursday, March 7, 2024 at AdventHealth New Smyrna. Born in St. Albans, Vermont to Alfred and Helen Vaughn Martel, Gloria came to the area in 2005 from Plainville, Connecticut.

A homemaker, she was the youngest of twelve children and loved animals, especially her two dogs, Skippy and Abby. A mother, grandmother, wife and friend, she will be missed by some who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Michael (Chris) Sweeney, of Edgewater; daughters, Debra Ward, of Palm Springs, and Valorie (Mark) Theriault, of Goshen, Connecticut; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
