Grafton Dennis Bruce, age 69, of Oak Hill, died Friday, March 8, 2024 at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach. Born in Maryland to David Grafton and Lona Inez Ambrose; “Bruce” grew up in Merritt Island until he was 16 and then moved back to this area in 2020 from Hanover, Pennsylvania.
A former service technician for Pitney Bowes; Bruce was very patriotic; spending much of his time helping the American Legion Post 285, Edgewater. He was in the Sons of the American Legion and the American Legion Riders Director in Post 285. He played college basketball in Maryland, and enjoyed deer, snake and gator hunting. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, drinking beer, driving his pontoon boat, tinkering, camping, repairing things, and working as a craftsman in his spare time.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Jody; a daughter, Megan Bruce; a son, DJ Bruce; and 2 sisters, Sharon Grobaker and Cindy Klunk. Grafton was preceded in death by his parents.
Celebration of life will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, at the American Legion Post 285, with Kevin Doherty officiating.
