James Cunniff, age 63, of Edgewater, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love and family on Friday, July 19, 2024. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts, he was the son of Eugene and Margaret (Duffy) Cunniff. James relocated to the area 25 years ago from Easton, Massachusetts.
James was the owner of Jim Irish, a construction company, and was known for his many talents as a handyman. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual who would always lend a hand to a friend in need. His legacy as a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and active member of AmVets Post 2 will surely be cherished by all who knew him.
A hysterically funny and sarcastic yet loving individual, James cherished his family and friends dearly and enjoyed spending time at the beach.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lorraine; his children, Ryan D'Abreu, Sierra Cunniff, and Robert Cunniff (wife Alexa Cunniff); seven grandchildren, Arionnah Cunniff, Jazmyn D’Abreu, Tanner Cunniff, Michael Cunniff, Ryatt McPeek, Roman McPeek, and Scarlett Pitre; and his siblings, Michael (wife Jayanne) Cunniff, Kathleen Cunniff, John Cunniff, Margaret Cunniff, and Daniel Cunniff. James was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Thomas.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home with the Reverend Mark Spivey officiating. Following the services there will be a gathering at the AmVets Post 2, 1209 S. Ridgewood Avenue, Edgewater, Florida.
