James Joseph Mahoney II
Beloved Father, Husband, and Friend
May 12, 1956 – July 11, 2025
With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of James Joseph Mahoney II, who left this world peacefully on July 11, 2025. A man of strength, kindness, and unwavering integrity, James lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a fierce loyalty to those he loved.
Born on May 12, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, James spent his formative years in South Jersey, where he developed a lifelong love for the Philadelphia Eagles. That passion never faded, and anyone who knew him knew better than to call during a game. Win or lose, he bled green.
In the second half of his life, James settled in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where he embraced the sunshine, the ocean breeze, and the laid-back lifestyle—though his tough, no-nonsense Jersey edge always stayed with him. There, he built not only a life, but a legacy grounded in family, loyalty, and hard work.
James was the kind of man who never waited to be asked for help—he just showed up. A true craftsman and problem solver, he could fix anything with his hands and knew how to handle life with grit and grace. He believed in doing things the right way, and his word was gold.
Above all, James was a devoted father, husband, and friend. He taught by example—leading with quiet strength, unshakable morals, and a warm heart. His love was steady, his advice honest, and his presence unforgettable. He is survived by his loving family, who will continue to honor his memory by living the way he taught them: with pride, loyalty, and heart. A celebration of James’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and love in his memory.
Though he may be gone from our sight, James Joseph Mahoney II will never be gone from our hearts. His legacy lives on in every person lucky enough to have known him.
Fly, Eagles, Fly. Rest easy, Dad. We’ll carry you with us always.
