Later, he moved to Florida and attended Florida State University, where he obtained his doctorate degree, was an art history professor and chairman of the art department. In 1987, he married the love of his life, Trish Thompson, and gained two children, Kelly and Daniel. Their family then moved to New Smyrna Beach, where he was the Executive Director of Atlantic Center for the Arts. After his time there, he was the Director at Mount Dora Center for the Arts and Southeast Museum of Photography. He was also a professor at Stetson University, Daytona Beach College, and did speaking throughout the community. Jim was a wealth of knowledge, an amazing cook, fabulous musician, provider for his family, loving dad, and husband.
Jim was a man of many talents and accomplishments. He was a respected art historian, dedicated educator and loved his family.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, brother Danny, and loving wife, Trish Thompson. He is survived by his children Kelly Moralle (Vince) and Daniel Thompson (Kristl).
