James Payton Sr. Obituary

James K. Payton was born on July 12, 1950 in Oconee, Georgia, to the union of Woodrow Payton and Mamie Ruth Evans. He departed this life on November 22, 2022 in Titusville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Earl Martin.

He received his early education at Oak Hill Elementary School, Oak Hill, Florida. He graduated from Chisholm High School in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. After serving in the military, James worked various jobs.

James is preceded in death by Lula B. Stubbs. He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughters: Jacqueline K. (Gerry) Dassey, Brittney Brinson, and Carlene (Jermaine) Kent. His son, James Payton. Twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. His uncle Donald (Delores) Evans, aunts Jennett Jefferson, Christine Clark and Gail Evans; Thelma May and Hattie Smith; along with many sorrowing cousins and friends.
