James Shoda, age 84, of Edgewater, died Friday, October 5, 2018 at Florida Hospital New Smyrna. Born in Widemouth, West Virginia to Marko and Susie Palco Shoda, James was the middle child of thirteen.
He was a United States Army veteran, a retired Union electrician for 35 years with IBEW Local 38, Cleveland and an avid golfer. James enjoyed traveling and was always smiling and happy. He was in the choir at St. Gerard’s Catholic Mission Church and a member of St. Gerard’s small groups.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Anita; 5 children - Kathy, Mike, Ron, Dave and Joe; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by 8 siblings.
Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. Gerard’s Catholic Mission Church, Edgewater with the Reverend Thomas Burke, C.Ss.R. officiating.
