Jane Ann Fisher, age 98, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. Jane was born on October 12, 1926, in Louisville, Kentucky and was married to Silas B. Fisher on June 12, 1947. Jane attended high school and college in Louisville, Kentucky and worked at a hospital as a lab technician. Jane was the support of the family and multiple moves to Lexington, Kentucky; Cleveland, Cincinnati, Ohio; Orlando, Florida; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Gaithersburg, Maryland; Palos Verdes, California; Littleton, Colorado; Lafayette, New Jersey; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Alexandria, Virginia; Lady Lake, Florida; New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Denver, Colorado. During these years there were family summer road trips to New Smyrna Beach, Florida to visit family friends and neighbors from all the moves. Jane lived a life marked by joy, love, and an inspiring spirit that touched all who knew her.
Jane was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her adopted children, daughter Anne Fisher-Bara and son-in-law Richard Bara of Bedminster, New Jersey; son Paul Fisher, daughter-in-law Ali Fisher, granddaughters Jessica Nelson and Caitlyn Fisher, all of Denver, Colorado; son John Fisher, grandsons Eric Fisher and Sean Fisher and her great-grandchildren. Her beloved husband, Silas B. Fisher, preceded her in death March 14, 2006.
Throughout her life, Jane pursued a variety of interests with enthusiasm. She was passionate about cooking, gardening, shopping, decorating, skiing, tennis, golfing, singing, and dancing. Her love for attending church was a significant aspect of her life, reflecting her deep faith and community spirit. She has impacted many people being known as Jane, Missy, Mama Jane, Miss Fish, Grandma Jane and Great Grandma.
Jane joins her late husband with a private family service to be held at Sea Pines Memorial Garden cemetery on June 25, 2025, in Edgewater, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic charities, honoring Jane's spirit of giving and compassion. Jane's legacy of love and joy will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate to know her.
