Jeannine A. Sullivan, age 93, of Port Orange, Florida died Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Benton House of Port Orange, Florida. Born in Winchendon, Massachusetts to Archie and Mary Jane LaPointe Rouleau, Jeannine "Ginger" Sullivan finished school In Winchendon, Mass. She met her future husband, Terry Sullivan while living there and they married and moved to Miami, Florida where she began working as a secretary while her husband worked on his degree as an Accountant. After their time in Miami, they moved to West Springfield, Mass. where they began a family, raising 6 girls and 1 boy. Jeannine was a devoted wife and Mother. Her down to earth nature and independent spirit were passed onto her children. Jeannine loved to sing and harmonize with friends and her family. As a youngster she would tell us how she would sing with her older sister, Doris who played the guitar. She learned all the words to Jazz Standards famous at that time and you could hear her humming her favorite tunes as she worked around the house. She spent some time golfing and was involved in square dancing with her husband Terry, enjoying gatherings and picnics at these events. Jeannine loved reading Edgar Cayce and was ahead of her time in studying nutrition and health. She took no medicines all of her life, preferring to find remedies in foods, passing this philosophy onto her children. She had a sharp sense of humor and could hold her own when joking with others. Her strength and independence she leaves to her daughters.
She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, West Springfield, Massachusetts and volunteered at Brightside Orphanage, Holyoke, Massachusetts. Jeannine was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Jeannine is survived by her six daughters, Barrie Sullivan, Vero Beach, Florida; Valerie Sullivan, Bourne, Massachusetts; Deborah Blake, Moultonboro, New Hampshire; Cynthia Sullivan, Asheville, North Carolina; Laurie Sullivan, Orleans, Massachusetts; and Kathryn Messer, New Smyrna Beach, Florida; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Doody, Worcester, Massachusetts, and Dolores Boule, Marlborough, Massachusetts; and her brother, Thomas Rouleau, Ludlow, Massachusetts. Jeannine was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Rouleau; husband, George Terrence Sullivan, and son, Matthew George Sullivan.
She will be dearly missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a future date in the fall.
