Jimmie “Butch” Vann, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 31, 2024 in his hometown of Oak Hill, surrounded by family.
Butch was a 4th generation native of Oak Hill. Retired from a long career at FEC Railway and once proud owner of Vann, Inc., he spent his time sharing early morning breakfast with close friends, being a gun range officer, competition shooter, Oak Hill development board member, and an avid NASCAR and wrestling fan.
He spent years fishing the Mosquito Lagoon, a passion shared with family and friends.
He loved his two daughters, Tanya Petracca and Becki Crane, along with their husbands Anthony and Tony, but was most proud of his 6 grandchildren: Colton, Trace, Luke, Jeret, Teagan and Tessa. He is also survived by his brother Glenn Vann and his loving family including Nancy, Jenna, and Kyle.
His family takes comfort in knowing he had amazing friendships and will rest in a place he loved the most.
