Joan Lillian (Rutz) Victory

Joan Lillian Rutz Victory, age 85, of New Smyrna Beach, died Wednesday, December 18th, 2024 at Alba Court Assisted Living Facility, New Smyrna Beach.  Born in San Diego, California to Earl  Rutz Sr and Lillian Couch Rutz; Joan moved to this area in 1993 from Lithonia, Georgia.

A homemaker, Joan was an artist at heart. She had a room filled with her framed artwork. She loved denim, knitting, crocheting, singing, playing guitar, shopping of Canal Street, New Smyrna Beach, and traveling to Northeastern Pennsylvania.  Family was important to her and her birds, Sky and Blue. Her only regret is that she never learned to dance.

Survivors include 2 nieces, Mitzi Poepperling and Chris Sharfstein.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2017.
